From the spring of 1946 to the summer of 1947, the poet Mu Dan had edited a newspaper Xinzai in Shenyang with a considerable circulation. Since the then Shenyang was on the eve of the liberation war and was located in the northeastern part of the area at the opposite edge, Mu Dan’s experience and corresponding “informant status” were not understood by more people. With the rise and deepening of Mu Dan’s studies since the 1980s, Mu Dan’s activities in Shenyang have gradually attracted the attention of researchers.
