Yunus set up mortgage-backed microcredit model to lift millions of poor people out of poverty and become a follow-up to various countries. The Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize to Bangladesh Rural Bank and its founder Yunus (They will share a prize of NOK 10 million) in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the world's poverty reduction efforts.
