20世纪末中国画坛的“笔墨等于零”引发了对“笔墨无止境”命题的探索。无论是追求笔墨的纯化、视觉的冲击,还是对观念符号以及中国画媒材的开放态度和创作实践都是中国画家在全球化语境下对中国画的转型所面临的表达性的匮乏进行的自觉反思。这些制约过昨天也影响到今天和明天的中国画创作观念,共同开创了今天中国画多元化发展的格局,为当代中国画的创作提供了新的思考基础。
