NGN设备标准和设备的开发情况我国网络与交换标准研究组早在1999年下半年就开始对软交换技术进行跟踪和研究,并在近一年里先后完成了“软交换设备总体技术要求”“、信令网关设备规范”“、BICC协议”“、SCTP协议”“、M3UA协议”“、M2PA协议”等与NGN设备相关的技术规范。除了网络标准研究组外,我国的其他相关标准研究组也在积极参与软交换系列标准的制定工作,已经完成了“ATM中继媒体网关设备规范”“、IP中继媒体网关”“、媒体网关控制协议”等技术规范。
