彭德怀在个人思想感情上并不喜欢军衔,他总担心通过军衔标识干部身份的高低会影响上下级之间的政治平等,甚至可能妨碍军队同人民的亲密联系。但人民解放军首次实行的军衔制却是由他和罗荣桓主持的。
Peng Dehuai does not like rank in his personal thoughts and feelings. He always fears that identifying cadres by rank may affect political equality between superiors and deputies and may even hinder the military’s close contact with the people. However, the military rank system first adopted by the People’s Liberation Army was chaired by him and Luo Ronghuan.
