“现代中国的音乐,应该是多功能、多层次、多风格和多形式的。”我非常赞同这一观点。通俗音乐作为整个现代中国音乐中的不可缺少、不可分割的重要组成部份,已越来越得到人们的普遍承认和重视。特别是近几年来的通俗歌曲的创作、表演和传播都很活跃,作为一种潮流,不可逆转。如何创作出既有民族风格又有时代特点的通俗歌曲,这是我步履在创作蹊径上所经常思考的一个问题。歌曲是音乐与文学紧密结合,互相依存的产物。一首好的歌曲的产生,首先它必须是建立在一首好的歌词的基础上。当我在《解放军歌曲》85年第六期的“歌词园地”上,读到部队歌词作家瞿琮同志写的《月亮走,我也走》这首歌词新作时,我就被词中所要表达的情感和意境深深地吸引住了。“月亮走,我也走,我送阿哥到村
