种子活力是决定种子或种子批在发芽和出苗期间的活力水平和行为的种子特性的综合表现。也可以说种子活力是指在广泛的田间条件下,决定种子迅速整齐出苗和长成正常幼苗潜在能力的特性。种子活力是重要的种子质量指标之一,高活力种子具有明显的生长优势和生产潜力,对农业生产具有十分重要的意义。能够影响种子活力的因素很多,概括起来有两大类,即遗传因素和环境因素,因此要保持和提高种子活力就要针对这两大因素的不同特点加以控制。
Seed vigor is a comprehensive expression of the seed characteristics that determine the level of vigor and behavior of seeds or seed batches during germination and emergence. It can also be said that seed vigor is defined as the ability of seeds to quickly emerge neatly and grow into potential seedlings under a wide range of field conditions. Seed vigor is one of the important seed quality indicators. High-vigor seed has obvious growth and production potential, which is of great significance to agricultural production. There are many factors that can affect the vitality of seeds. To sum up, there are two broad categories, that is, genetic factors and environmental factors. Therefore, to maintain and enhance the vitality of the seeds, different characteristics of these two factors must be controlled.
