宁波市鄞州区下应社区教育学校由香港著名实业家曹光彪先生捐资建造,原国防部长张爱萍上将题写校名。学校近年来相继被评为区先进学校、文明单位和省示范性成校。学校地处宁波东郊潘火,离市区仅两公里,交通便捷。校园环境幽雅,景色宜人。学校占地30余亩,建筑面积达7000平方米,拥有可容纳20个教学班的教学楼两栋和实习大楼一栋。各教室均配置了双向闭路电视,配备有计算机房和多媒体教室。各专业实习设施齐全,服装实验工场拥有高速平缝机40余台。学校还设有财会模拟实验室及音乐、舞蹈等专用场地。图书室、阅览室藏书2万余册。学校专业教师本科迭标率100%,中级职称以上教师占55%;各专业均有骨干教师作为教学中坚,有10余名教师分别获市、区级优质课、技能比赛、教坛新秀等奖。学校注重对学生素质的培养。毕业生深受用人单位的欢迎,就业率在90%以上,已有12人分别担任部门经理等职。学校还在天工实业、培罗成、勇杰制表等8家单位设有技能培训基地。为更好地服务地方经济、构建学习型街道,学校在区教育局和街道党工委、办事处的领导下,大力开展社区教育工作,通过建立“学校教育体系”、“思想法制教育体系”、“知识技能教育体系”等,为社区全体成员提供多层次的教学服务。社区内有五个行政村、三个单位(社区)、六家企业被评为区学习型单位,320个家庭被评为区学习型家庭。学校积极组织被征地人员、下岗职工、外来人员以及老年人群参加各类培训和社会文化活动。目前,学校正全力打造宗华职业中学、社区教育学校、花园小学三张“名片”,努力提高办学水平,更好地为发展地方经济服务。
