10年前,31岁的宁夏隆德县农民郭雷信背井离乡,远赴400多公里的煤矿打工。如今郭雷信举家作为生态移民走出大山,一家人生活在引黄灌区渠口农场,他自己也在附近的县城里找到了收入不错的新工作。1999年年底～2000年年初,我国政府决定在685万平方公里国土面积、3.5亿多人口的广袤地区实施西部大开发战略,拉开了建设一个新西部的宏伟篇章。西部大开发战略实施后,千千万万的西部人民像郭雷信一样得到了实惠。
Ten years ago, a 31-year-old farmer from Ningde Lund County, Guo Leixin, left his hometown and went to work in more than 400 kilometers of coal mines. After the western development strategy was implemented, tens of millions of people in the west enjoyed the same benefits as Guo Leixin.
