Capsicum was cultivated in greenhouse after seeds were irradiated by carbon ions with different doses (0, 100, 200, 400 Gy). Emergency rate of seedlings descended with the dose increased, and germination of capsicum was completely inhibited at 400 Gy. Light green and wrinkled cotyledon were observed after carbon ions radiation at 100 and 200 Gy, so chloroplasts of cotyledon were analyzed by transmission electron microscope (TEM)
