随着经济体制改革的不断深化,彬县百货公司同全国诸多的百货企业一样也面临着经营机制的转轨问题,企业要走向市场去参与竞争。但长期生存于计划经济体制模式下的彬县百货公司却存在着体制不顺,机制不完善,经营缺乏活力,难以与不断发展的经济和建立社会主义市场经济体制的总体目标相适应。因而在市场竞争中经营状况不佳,连年发生亏损。仅据1992年5月末的统计,公司就累计亏损7.26万元,欠银行贷款总额295万元,应付利息13.3万元。公司经营已陷于一种捉襟见肘、贫困撩倒的境地。

Enterprises must go to the market to participate in competition. However, Binxian Department Stores, which has long lived in the planned economic system, has its own system, its mechanism is imperfect, and its operation lacks vitality. It is difficult to adapt to the overall goal of developing a stable economy and establishing a socialist market economy. As a result, business conditions in the market competition are poor, and losses have occurred in successive years. According to the statistics at the end of May 1992, the company had a cumulative loss of 72,600 yuan, owing to a total bank loan of 2.95 million yuan, and a payable interest of 133,000 yuan. The company’s business has fallen into a situation of being overstretched and impoverished.
