福建省文化局于8月16日至9月1日在稻州市举办了全省第二届戏曲現代剧目彙报演出大会?渭踊嵫荽蠡岬?有各专区、市的代表及观摩人員共計400多人。会演中演出了閩剧、梨园戏、高甲戏、莆仙戏、薌剧、京剧、越剧、汉剧、潮剧、山歌戏、打城戏等11个剧种的41个剧目,其中創作的32个,占全部演出剧目的78%强,共观摩演出了16場,大会期間,剧团还到街道、农村作宣传演出。大会开始的务虛阶段,学習了中央召开的戏曲表現现代生活座談会提出的新的方針任务,对为什么要以现代剧目为網与如何推动戏曲工作的全面大跃进
