Not long ago, a delegation from the U.S. Metal Stamping Association visited 24 auto parts stamping factories in Japan, a few of which belonged to automakers, most of which were professional independent factories. The visit report mentioned the common features of each plant in the following aspects. (1) Compared with the stamping workshop with the same output in the United States, the workshop and equipment in Japan have an area of about 20% smaller, and the presses are arranged compactly, and there are more perfect automatic production lines and feeding systems. In addition to quick change molds in the workshop, there are few other features. (2) The excellent civilized production plant area is clean and tidy, the workshop walkway, all equipment and concrete floor of the paint, rarely see the oil stains, the staff wears white or light-colored work clothes and hats. (3) The production assembly is half of the main workshop is engaged in stamping, and the other half is used for assembly (mainly welding). Japanese factories prefer to supply assemblies because they can make more profits.
