The authors analyzed data from 450 patients with acquired myasthenia gravis to determine how often serum AchR-Ab levels are elevated and how the levels of antibodies are normal versus those with elevated antibody levels. AchR-Ab was found to be elevated in 74% of patients at some stage of the disease, and the antibody levels were initially normalized in 12 (2.7%) patients and subsequently increased. Compared with patients with elevated AchR-Ab levels, patients with normal AchR-Ab levels often had men with atrophy of the thymus, less thymus adenocarcinoma with thymus hyperplasia, and mild conditions involving only the ocular muscle. Electromyography There were also fewer abnormalities, but significant differences between the two (p <0.05). In addition, 250 patients before receiving immunosuppressive agents or thymectomy treatment of its AchR-Ab levels and disease severity and forearm single
