Objective To observe the effect of selenium on the reproductive system in mice and provide experimental data for the clinical application of selenium. Methods The mice in the control group were fed the normal diet. The mice in the experimental group were fed with low-selenium diet. The mice in the experimental group were randomly divided into three groups. The high-dose selenium group (1.024 mg / kg), the low-dose selenium group (0.224 mg / kg ) And low selenium control group. Mice were sacrificed on the 11th week to observe the health status of mice and the rate of early sperm micronucleus and sperm deformity in mice. Results Selenium deficiency could lead to an increase in the incidence of micronuclei and sperm deformity in mice. After selenium supplementation, the incidence of micronuclei in low-dose and high-dose selenium groups was lower than that in selenium-deficient group (P> 0.05) Weekly dropped to the control group level. The sperm deformity rate of low-dose group and high-dose group was significantly lower than that of the lack of selenium deficiency group (P <0.05). Conclusions Selenium deficiency can lead to abnormal sperm morphology and dysbactation in mice, which can be partly recovered by selenium supplementation.
