湖南省吉首市马颈坳镇党委副书记兼竹寨村党支部书记刘祖芳,曾是有名的红人。可谁会想到,仅仅几年时间里,他就像流星一般划落,蜕变成了囚犯。2001年8月,吉首市检察院以贪污罪对刘祖芳提起公诉。同年10月,吉首市人民法院一审判处刘有期徒刑5年。随即,吉首市委、市政府决定开除刘祖芳的党籍和公职。
Liu Jifang, deputy secretary of the party committee and secretary of the Party branch of Zhuzhai Village, Jiaozuo City, Jishou City, Hunan Province, was once famous as a Red Man. In August 2001, Jishou City Procuratorate filed a public prosecution against Liu Zufang for embezzlement. In October the same year, Jishou City People’s Court of First Instance sentenced Liu to 5 years in prison. Immediately, Jishou municipal government decided to fire Liu Zufang’s party and public office.
