敦煌菩萨是中国传统伦理观和审美观在佛教造像中的集中体现,印度宗教文化中健硕的男相菩萨传入中国后,在菩萨自身属性与中国传统文化背景的影响下,逐步汉化被改造成女相菩萨。其整个女性化演变过程是中国本土文化“再创造”特质的体现。
The Bodhisattva of Dunhuang is the embodiment of Chinese traditional ethics and aesthetics in the statues of Buddhism.
