A salvage archaeological excavation was taken in Gongyi City in 1998 by Zhengzhou Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, and three tombs were found with many pottery pots, pans, figures, wells, ovens and bronze mirrors and iron swords etc. According to the typological analysis of the tombs the related burial goods, those tombs might have been the remains of the Jin Dynasty.
