People often think that the U.S. economy is dominated by hugely profitable multinational companies. This statement ignores the important role of small businesses in social life. Through study tours in the United States, we learned that after the Second World War, small businesses in the United States have developed rapidly. In 1947, there were approximately 8.06 million small businesses in the United States, which increased to 11.18 million by 1970 and increased to 16.2 million in 1980 and reached 2.0 million in 1992. At present, the number of small businesses accounts for 99% of the total number of companies in the United States. The number of employees in the workforce accounts for about 51% of the US labor force, and the total production value accounts for about 40% of the total US GDP. From the above figures, it can be seen that small businesses play a very important role in the U.S. economy. Seriously studying the U.S. policy and management of small enterprises has certain implications for the development of non-state-owned and small enterprises in China.
