2000年11月3日,针对香港政协委员的提案,政协全国委员会专_门委员会提案委员会在国家政协机关召开了该提案的协商办理座谈会。邀请了国务院港澳办、国家计委、国家经贸委、财政部、外经贸部、建设部、国土资源部、国家旅游局、国家环保总局九家单位的负责同志,与专程赶到北京参加座谈的十位港区政协委员,进行了协商座谈。座谈会由提案委员会主任何光远主持,提案委员会副主任盛树仁、席德华到会,全国政协副主席陈锦华出席了座谈会并作了重要讲话。座谈会规格之高列其他提案座谈会之首。
