有一次,太宗李世民把大唐帝国的创业元老房玄龄和职业经理人魏征叫到一起开会:“创业和守成,哪个难?”房玄龄说: “建国之初,与各路英雄一起角逐争斗而后使他们臣服,还是创业难。”魏征说:“从古到今的帝王,没有一个不是从非常艰难的处境中取得天下,但又在安逸中失去了天下,所以守成难。”李世民说:“玄龄与我共同打下江山,出生入死,所以更能体会到创业的艰难。魏征与我共同安定天下,时常担心富贵而导致骄奢,由于忘乎所以而产生祸乱,所以懂得守成的难度。然而创业的艰难,已经成为过去的往事,而守成的艰难,却正是我与诸位要一起慎重对待的。”两个人都心悦诚服地认同了对方的价值。
