【English】 “Middle East” July 2014 In the political and social turmoil in the Arab world, the Gulf countries have become rare economic highlights. From 2010 to 2013, the average real-world GDP growth rate of the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain) reached 5.6%, significantly higher than the overall level in the Middle East. The six countries have proven that oil and natural gas reserves account for 30% and 23% of the world's total respectively, and their annual per capita income has nearly tripled from 2002 to 2012, rising from 12,000 U.S. dollars
