The WHO-established standard for “50% normal sperm morphology” has long been considered one of the best sperm parameters for predicting male fertility. However, the standard is only a man-made requirement and can not distinguish between normal and low normal. Therefore, by studying the relationship between normal sperm morphology and pregnancy established by WHO, a new evaluation of the significance of sperm morphology in predicting male fertility was made. 145 pairs of primary or secondary infertility couples were observed (duration of more than 1.5 years).
