培養全面發展的人,這是共產主義教育爲自己所提出的任務。什麽叫人底個性的全面發展?爲什麽只有到了共産主義思想體系指導下的新民主主義社會和社會主義社會,人底個性的全面發展才開始有了可能?而且有了必要?這些問題,我們從下列三點來討論。第一,人底個性的全面發展意味着社會上每一個人,不分階級、性別、種族,都有機會受到充分的教育,成爲全面發展的人。這個理想在奴隸社會、封建社會、資本主義社會裏是絕對不可能實現的。在階級社會裏,享受學校教育總是統治階級的特權,被統治階級一般地是無權享受教育的。在重男輕女的封建社會裏,女子是完全被擯棄於教育之外的。就是在資本主義社會裏,女子入學的人數也大大少於男子,至於少數民族在教育上受到歧視,現在美國的黑人便是最鮮明的例子。

In the patriarchal feudal society, women were totally deserted from education. That is, in capitalist society, the number of women enrolled in schools is also much smaller than that of men. As for ethnic minorities, they are discriminated against in education. Now, the blacks in the United States are the most vivid examples.
