随着科学技术的发展,各国之间综合实力的竞争归根到底是教育的竞争、人才的竞争。在新课程改革背景下以及新课标的实施中,教育越来越注重学生实践能力的培养,使理论与实践不断结合,改变了以往单一的理论教学模式,在课程教授过程中更加注重学生想象力与创造力的培养。其中,初中地理课对学生的创造力培养提供了重要途径。地理涉及很多抽象概念的学习、读图的学习、对比能力的学习。地理学科可以培养学生良好的形象思维能力,这对学生在其他学科的学习中也起到重要的推动作用。从如何培养初中生形象思维能力以及其意义两方面展开论述。
