用血球凝集技术能查出食品和培养基中蜡样芽胞杆菌的肠毒素。用蜡样芽胞杆菌肠毒素皮下注射家兔所得的抗血清致敏红血球后,与蜡样芽胞杆菌的肠毒秦及培养物滤液进行凝集,其凝集价很高,纯毒素(1.5毫克/毫升)为1:262,000,培养物滤液为1:32,768。在同样条件下,用炭疽杆菌、巨大芽胞杆菌、马铃薯芽胞杆菌、枯草杆菌、蜡样芽胞杆菌变种蕈状芽胞杆菌、B.thuringiensis var. gallerae、痢疾志贺氏菌、大肠埃希氏菌、韦氏梭菌和霍乱弧菌等培养物滤液以及葡萄球菌A型和B型肠毒素作对照试验,其凝集价都很低(1:0~1:16)。将蜡样芽胞杆菌接种
