党的十五届六中全会指出,加强和改进党的作风建设,必须把思想作风建设摆在第一位。这是我们党的优良传统和宝贵经验,是马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想建党学说的重要原则。思想是行动的先导。没有思想上的高度统一,就不可能有行动上的高度一致。一个政党如果放松了思想建设,就会失去精神支柱和理论指导,就会迷失方向。特别是在新的历史条件下,我们党所处的环境、肩负的任务及广大党员的思想状况都发生了深刻的变化,进一步加强和改进党的思想作风建设,具有特别重要的意义。
The 6th Plenary Session of the 15th CPC Central Committee pointed out: To strengthen and improve the party’s work style construction, we must give top priority to building the ideological style. This is our party’s fine tradition and valuable experience and is an important principle of the theory of party building in Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought. Thought is the precursor of action. Without a high degree of ideological unity, there can be no high degree of agreement in action. If a political party relaxes its ideological building, it will lose its spiritual support and theoretical guidance and will lose its way. Especially under the new historical conditions, profound changes have taken place in the environment, the tasks shouldered by our party, and the ideological status of the majority of party members. It is of special significance for us to further strengthen and improve the party’s ideological and work style construction.
