The Third American Symposium on Optical Interference Film was held April 17-19, 1984 at the Monterey Convention Center in Monterey, California. It is sponsored by the American Optical Society, the American Institute of vacuum, Photographic and Optical Instrument Engineers and Vacuum Coating Society to attend. Conference Chairman J. A. Dobrowolski, Chairman of the Technical Committee A. J. Thelen, members of J.H. Apfel, J. M. Bennett, p. Denton, J.R. Jacobsson, H.A. MacLeod, R.I. Seddon, E. Spiller and J. A. Thornton.
