与机械陀螺相比,激光陀螺有如下优点: 1.没有惯性质量,开关启动之后达到正常状态的时间很短,旋转速度的范围也宽得多。 2.因为环状干涉仪使用时间长,近来激光器的寿命也延长了,所以,降低了维修成本。而机械陀螺的轴承寿命和润滑都是个问题。而使用空气轴承或者靠静电力将之悬置在真空中使用,成本又太高。 3.可以直接测量旋转速度分量,如果用计数器测出拍频,就可以直接数字计量,所以,可以设计出简单可靠的优质系统。而机械陀螺要求X、Y、Z轴的分量耦合,并且各个分量还要模数转换,因此,信号处理很复杂。
