沈静芷同志(1915.11—1995.4)是我国现代卓有成就的出版家。他在抗日救亡运动中开始出版生涯。皖南事变后担任新知书店总经理,解放战争后期创立生活·读书·新知三联书店,为反对国民党政府的独裁统治,争取民族独立和人民民主,传播进步文化进行了艰苦的工作和斗争,新中国建立后,他又为私营出版业的社会主义改造和创立新中国的地图出版事业呕心沥血,奋斗不懈。 (一) 沈静芷又名炎、国良、仲如。原籍浙江杭州。青年时代肄业于上海正风文学院附属励学学社。1935年1月,宋庆龄任会长的中国民族武装自卫委员会成立,他积极参加活动。同年3月,考入生活书店,后以从事抗日活动被捕,适从海外流亡归来的韬奋曾用“恒逊”的假名写纸条递进狱中进行慰问。抗日战争全面爆发后,沈静芷在沪西工人夜校、上海难民收容所和第19伤兵医院等单位服务,后又参加沙千里领导的蚂蚁社(简称蚁社)流动抗日宣传队。在张庚带领下,从上海出发,辗转南京、安庆和武汉等地进行宣传活动。1938年3月,流动抗日宣传队被迫解散,他在武汉参加新知书店工作。当年,参加了中国共产党并调任长沙办事处主任。lo月,武汉失陷,新知书店总管理处撤往桂林。之后,又赶赴贵
Comrade Shen Jingzhi (1915.11-1995.4) is a very accomplished publisher of modern China. He started his career in the Anti-Japanese National Salvation Movement.
