“五四○六”一级斜面菌种是用来接二级(原母剂)进行扩大的。以往,一支仅用一次。在毛主席光辉哲学思想指引下,在全区广大贫下中农大搞农业微生物群众运动的热潮中,我区经过试验,发现“五四○六”一级斜面菌种可连续使用多次,质量表现良好。它的优点是:节省原料(尤其是琼脂)、生产速度快、方法简单。便于大搞群众运动。经在附近社队推广,反映良好。
