明嘉靖戊戌年间,安南内乱,明世宗朱厚熜钦点兵部尚书毛伯温南下安南平息番乱。毛伯温出征之时,明世宗赐一诗:“大将生来胆气豪,腰横秋水雁翎刀,风吹锣鼓山河动,电闪旌旗日月高。天上麒麟原有种,雪中蝼蚁岂能逃,平安带诏归来日,朕与将军解战袍。”此诗平仄合辙押韵,气势恢弘,颇有几分扫平天下一旷六合的抱负。这首御制诗也因此被收录于《千家诗》中流传甚广。可是其中所提如秋水一般的“雁翎腰刀”到底为何种型制的兵器,恐怕现代人大多不知就里,故笔者勉力为文介绍“腰刀”这种中华民族特有之古兵器的来源、型制以及关于它的传奇。

However, what kind of weapons such as Qi Yan’s waist knives, such as the Autumn Spring, are probably the source of the ancient Chinese weapons unique to the Chinese nation? The system and the legend about it.
