Long-acting Xilin (benzathine penicillin G) Long-acting Xilin is a derivative of penicillin G, which has the effect of prolonging its slow efficacy. The major advantage of this medicine is that the duration of penicillin action is greatly extended: one injection of 600,000 IU can produce and maintain penicillin effective blood concentration for up to two weeks.
