这是一幅祭祖用的满族剪纸——掛签。满族最重祭祖,活动很多。在满族人家的居室西墙上,一般设有一块“祖宗板”,板上有一木匣,被称作祖宗匣,里面装有数条尺寸无严格规定的皮条,后来是绫条或布条,这就是所供奉的满族祖宗的象征了。在祖宗板下面置放一桌子,上面焚香设供。据《宁安县志》载:“排列木人或各色绫条,用以代表祖先,非个人之祖先,乃满族公共之祖先,故虽曰家祭其实国祭。”另据《通化志略》载:“祖宗在西墙供着。不是宗谱,是鹿皮口袋装的皮条,一嘟噜表示一辈,几个兄弟几个疙瘩,这叫子孙条子,后改用匣子装布条了。”这种祭祖的象征,类似汉族的祖宗牌位。
