This paper analyzes the significance of the Marxist viewpoints on holism, history and production determinism in overcoming the static and isolated tendencies and limitations of traditional economic anthropology research. It also reviews and analyzes the significance of Western anthropologists applying Marxism Doctrine and method of understanding the characteristics of the pre-capitalist society and its mode of production.
