一位哲学家带着他的一群学生去漫游世界,十年间他们游历了所有的国家,拜访了所有有学问的人,现在他们回来了,个个都满腹经纶。在进城之前,哲学家在郊外的一片草地上坐了下来,对他的学生说:“十年游历,你们都已是饱学之士,现在学业就要结束了,我们上最后一课吧!” 弟子们围着哲学家坐了下来。哲学家问:现在我们坐在什么地方?弟子们答,现在我们坐在旷野里。哲学家又问,旷野里长着什么?弟子们说,旷野里长满杂草。
A philosopher took his group of students to roam the world. In a decade they visited all the countries and visited all the learned people. Now that they are back, they are all full of money. Before entering the city, the philosopher sat down on a piece of grass on the outskirts and said to his students, "You have been studying for ten years. You are all well-educated. Now that your studies are over, let’s go to the last lesson! The disciples sat down around the philosopher. The philosopher asked: Where do we sit now? The disciples answered, now we are sitting in the wilderness. The philosopher asked again, What is growing in the wilderness? The disciples say that the weeds are full of weeds.
