沈从文的创作风格趋向浪漫主义，作品具有浓郁的地方色彩、民族特色。本文以湘西的淳朴风情造就了《边城》的独特审美意蕴为切入点，通过分析湘西地区独特的文化背景、五四新思潮对沈从文的启迪，以及西方文化的浸染对沈从文《边城》中文化取向的影响，来探讨《边城》中的审美意蕴与文化取向。
