There is a Russian proverb that says “Life is like a floating sand, and I do not know where the fate blows it.” "I’ve always felt that this proverb is very apt to describe the life of my parents and of our generation. I have two hometown, one is from Xinjiang, growing up in Xinjiang, the other is the first time after going to college in Qinghai have a chance to visit and explore the hometown of Qinghai. After graduating from college, I came to Beijing to live and work in a multi-ethnic unit. That is to say, my personal circle is mostly composed of ethnic minorities from all over the motherland. Even one day, when you see several people in the same ethnic group wearing their own national costumes at the same time, you may think that this day is probably their traditional festival.
