The Royal British Navy intends to implement a major retrofit program on the GWS30 Sea Javelin area defensive missile. Because the missile’s key body structural components have reached the end of their life. Unofficially, the reconstruction will start in 1993 and newer missiles will come out in 1994. The transformation plan aims to improve the anti-ship missile capabilities of the Javelin. Renovation work will include: changing the guidance circuit, improving the target radars and using the new fragment killing warhead.
