VHS制式的录象机自从1976年9月问世以后,到1988年终累计已生产了两亿一千万台。其中日本3,700万台(占17.6％);北美9,690万台(占 40.6％);欧洲4.500万台(占21.4％);其它地区3,160万台(占15.0％)。这样VHS录象机已形成一个巨大的讯息网络。其软件市场可望迅速扩大。
After the VHS video recorder was introduced in September 1976, it had produced a total of 210 million units by the end of 1988. Of these, 37 million were from Japan (17.6%); 96.9 million from North America (40.6%); 45 million from Europe (21.4%); and 31.6 million from other regions (15.0%). In this way, VHS video recorders have formed a huge network of information. Its software market is expected to expand rapidly.
