Although AWARD and AMI vary greatly in their software, most, if not all, of the Flash Flash ROMs they use are the same. We know that basic input and output systems (BIOS), like any other software, require memory as a carrier, except that this memory is not a common random access memory (RAM). In order to maintain the stability of the system, we must first ensure the stability of the BIOS, so it uses read-only memory (ROM). However, I personally think that it is a bit far-fetched to list ROM as it is because there are currently two types of memory: the first one is that which can be “burned” by software, and the user can usually refresh it by yourself, called Flash ROM, And some of the graphics card, strictly speaking, they are not really ROM; the other is through the irreversible hard “baked” made, can not be refreshed, more common in the 486 and before the motherboard and some of the graphics card, Known as EPROM, is the real ROM.
