国外发达国家如美国、以色列、法国等国家的微灌技术已相当成熟。这些国家微灌工艺设备先进精度高,微灌设备配套程度高,产品性能质量优良,特别是在材质配方上,对微灌设备产品可提供专用牌号塑料与碳黑等添加剂作保证。在应用方面微灌面积大,比重高,自动化微灌工程多。 据有关资料介绍,美国微灌面积已达60.6万公顷,占本国灌溉总面积的3.04％,是世界上微灌面积最大国家,名列各国之首。西班牙16万公顷（占 4.7％）,澳大利亚 14.7万公顷,南非14.4万公顷（约占13％）,以色列10.43万公顷（占47.4％）。已超过4万公顷的国家有:意大利、埃及、墨西哥、印度、日本、法国、泰国等。塞浦路斯微灌面积为1.63万公顷,面积虽小,但已占本国灌溉总面积的71％,是世界上微灌面积比重最高的国家。约旦微灌面积已达本国灌溉总面积的21％,其比重也比较高。
