In 1959, British companies accounted for 49% of the U.S. motorcycle market, but by 1966 Japan Honda had 63% of the U.S. motorcycle market. To this end, the British government heavily hired famous Boston Consulting Group (BCG), sought through the consulting firm to find out how the Japanese company Honda dramatically in the United States motorcycle market beyond the British business reasons. The BCG report describes how Honda is well-thought-out in developing and implementing its strategy to successfully capitalize on its domestic manufacturing base to reduce costs and forcibly squeeze into a new market segment to capture the U.S. market -
