用自由选择法和非自由选择法对24种小麦品种(系)贮藏期间对玉米象进行抗性筛选,分别以成虫的产卵量、成虫和幼虫造成的重量损失、繁殖的子代数以及自由选择法中成虫的数量分布作为抗性标准。筛选出抗虫品种1425,感虫品种 B128—179,可以作为标准抗虫品种和非抗虫品种,应用于自由选择法。鄂麦九号、鄂恩一号等优良品种为中等抗性。抗性机制与小麦品种的品质特性有关,特别是胚乳的角质化程度是影响抗性的主要因素。其次,种皮厚度、籽粒大小、胚的软硬及大小和生理生化物质对抗性也有影响。
