The old leaves of mango potted seedlings of ’Tainong No.1’ were used as materials to study the damage and protective response of mango old leaves under enhanced UV-B radiation. The results showed that the content of MDA and the relative conductivity of the leaves of mango increased and the content of chlorophyll and chlorophyll a / b decreased after UV-B radiation treatment, indicating that the leaves were damaged, and the damage of leaves was aggravated with the prolonging of treatment time. The contents of soluble protein and activities of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, POD), protective pigments (carotenoids, flavonoids) and reduced GSH contents in leaves treated with UV-B radiation were significantly higher than those in control leaves. UV-B radiation treatment leaves vitamins C content was significantly lower than the control leaves, indicating that enhanced UV-B radiation can induce leaf cells to enhance anti-UV-B radiation damage by enhancing the activity of scavenging oxygen and absorbing some UV-B radiation directly.
