一我曾怎样企盼着这列火车,梦想着这列火车,研究过这列车的每一个细节啊。它是我的梦想,我痴心的寄托,又是一个像我这样地位的人难以企及的奢望。我那简陋而灯光昏暗的房间里排列着各种剪报、明信片和日历,有的印工低廉粗劣,有的印工昂贵精美。这些图片上全是夸赞这列火车荣耀的场面:车头的强大动力以及内部用天鹅绒装饰的豪华车厢,等等。酷热难耐的夏日夜晚,我躺在床上,翻阅着那些漂亮的剪贴大洋洲文学专辑(下)将在下期刊出。
How did I look forward to this train, dreamed of this train, studied every detail of this train ah. It is my dream, I silly sustenance, but also an unmanageable luxury of a man like me. My humble and dimly lit room lined with various newspaper clippings, postcards and calendars, some of them cheap and poor, and some of them expensive and beautiful. All of these pictures boast the glory of the train: a powerful front with a luxurious interior decorated with velvet, and much more. Hot summer intolerable, I lay in bed, read through those beautiful cuttings Oceania literature album (below) will be published in the next issue.
