Air Products June 11th announced that its joint venture companybased in Sichuan,southwestern China has signed a longtermagreement to build a hydrogen production facility forPetroChina Company Limited,one of the largest oil and gascompanies in the world.It is the first time that a state-ownedrefinery in China has outsourced its hydrogen requirements.The steam methane reformer (SMR) will produce hydrogenand syngas to support PetroChina’s Sichuan refinery and petrochemicalfacilities.The facility will produce over 90 millionstandard cubic feet per day of hydrogen and is targeted to beon stream in early 2012.
