The International Management Development Institute (IMD) recently published the 1994 World Competitiveness Report, for the first time to publish the top 41 most globally competitive countries and regions rankings (in previous years, respectively, OECD and non-OECD rankings). The United States topped the list, Singapore second, Japan third and Hong Kong fourth. Four Asian dragons live up to expectations, all within 25 (Singapore 2, Hong Kong 4, Taiwan 18, South Korea 24).
