本文旨在推介Thomas Bloor和Meriel Bloor的《英语的功能分析》(第三版)。本文概述了书中各章节的主要内容,并从内容、编排等不同角度对本书进行评价。本文认为,本书在内容上覆盖面广,语料丰富,体现了最新的发展成果;在编排上,结构完整、脉络清晰,可读性较强。不足之处有三点:(1)本书对某些概念的阐释显得冗长或过于简单,如主位结构、语法隐喻等;(2)本书对部分内容的探讨仍显不足,例如,名词词组、动词词组等;(3)书中存在一些明显的错误。
This article aims to introduce Thomas Bloor and Meriel Bloor’s “Functional Analysis of English” (Third Edition). This article outlines the main contents of each chapter in the book, and reviews the book from different perspectives, such as content, orchestration. This paper argues that the book covers a wide range of content, rich corpus, embodies the latest achievements in the development; structure, complete structure, clear context, strong readability. There are three shortcomings: (1) The book is too long or too simple to interpret some concepts, such as the thematic structure, grammatical metaphor, etc .; (2) the book is still not enough to explore some of the content, for example, the noun phrase , Verb phrases, etc .; (3) there are some obvious errors in the book.
