Based on the limit shear stress of visco-plastic fluid, the present paper analyzes the influence of the limit shear stress on the basic lubrication equations. Slip boundary Reynolds equations are derived when shear stress on boundaries reaches the limit. A constant pressure zone, where Reynolds equation is invalid, is deduced from the flow continuous condition. The results show that the load-carrying capacity of lubricant film will decrease significantly as most part of the film is yield.
